This article covers how to insert your WP Go Maps map onto a page built using the Elementor page editor
Setup #
Prerequisites #
The Following Plugins need to be installed and active
- WP Go Maps
- Elementor
Built In Elementor Widgets #
Since version 10.0.07 (Basic) and 10.0.06 (Pro) we now include native Elementor widgets, which gives you more control over placement and configuration without the need to understand or memorise shortcode attributes.
Simple edit your Elementor page and scroll down to our wdgets:
Drag these into your page and and edit your settings as preferred, and publish!
Use Shortcodes Instead #
If you prefer to use shortcodes directly instead, this is still fully supported.
Locating your Map Shortcode #
To insert your map into the Elementor page editor, you will need to copy the shortcode of your map. The Map Shortcode can be found on the Maps page or under the General Settings of the map (WP Go Maps -> Maps (edit your chosen map) -> Settings -> General). Click on the shortcode to automatically copy it to your clipboard

Inserting the Shortcode in the Elementor page editor #
Navigate to the WordPress Pages screen to locate the page you’d like you add your map to. Select the “Edit with Elementor” option on the desired page
Select “Edit with Elementor”
Type Shortcode into the Elementor Widgets search bar
Search for shortcode widget
Drag the shortcode widget onto the page
Paste the shortcode into the shortcode box in the widget configuration area
Paste shorcode and update page
Update the page and exit to the WordPress dashboard
The page can now be previewed from the WordPress pages area or via the regular WordPress page editor
