    Hi Perry,

Looks like I’m back in business. Somewhere along the line, ThemeGrill made changes to the header.php file. I just needed to recreate the header.php in my child theme from the current version of the header.php in the parent theme.

I’ve checked it in Firefox, Safari, IE and even Edge. All looks good.

    Thanks!

    Thanks, Perry.

I created an item on the Spacious Theme support forum on wordpress.org with the information you provided.

Let’s see what they come back with.

    Thanks, Perry.

I’ll follow up on the V8, though perhaps not immediately as I need to get back to some other work first. The ability to selectively not display fields that have data will be increasingly important for this application as we get to the fall.

    Imports:

There is no way to do partial imports. If you need to import 10 existing markers, we suggest deleting them first through the editor and then leaving “replace map data” *unchecked*.

    Just so I’m clear:

    • If I upload a CSV file and select Apply Import Data to and Map N and Replace Map Data
      • All the markers currently applied to map N will be deleted
      • All the new markers uploaded will be added to Map N
    • If I upload a CSV file and select Apply Import Data to and Map N but NOT “Replace Map Data”
      • the uploaded markers will be added to Map N
      • the current markers in Map N will remain
    • If I were to select more than one map (or all maps) when uploading, are the uploaded markers shared among the maps (i.e. changing a marker in one map changes it for all maps) or replicated for each map (i.e. changing a marker in one map does not affect the “same” marker in the other maps?
    • What happens if I don’t select the “Import data to” button at all and then press submit? Where are the markers uploaded to? Or if I did that, would the import not proceed? (Just curious – not something I plan to do.)
    • Do the id and map id fields have any effect? For example, if I were to include a map number in the map id field, would the load add it to that map? What about the ID field? Again, more curious than anything else, but since those fields are in the CSV, I wondered…

    Thanks!

Thanks, Perry. All set on the license. I hadn’t make the connection between the two conversation (and, as you saw in the other thread, I’ve made the purchase as well.)

    All good. Thanks!

It does – thank you! I deleted all the custom fields, created a new CSV with the fields in the optimal order and uploaded the full map data.

I’ve done some CSS customization for the [data-custom-field-id], setting the text to bold and setting [data-custom-field-id]::before to normal. I haven’t formatted specific custom fields yet, but I understand what needs to be done based on your instructions.

Following up on your question on the address field, – yes, I would like to hide it (since I use the street address as the title). I accomplished that by setting the following in the custom CSS:

    .wpgmza_infowindow_address
    {
    display: none;
    }

There is also a .wpgmza_iw_address entry in the custom CSS from the instructions earlier in this post string. Is that incorrect or a different element?

Thank you so much for the assistance. It has been fabulous. This map now fully replicates my fusion tables map, and has some of the new features I wanted to implement. (Admittedly, I have spent way more time than is good for me, given other work I have on my plate, but I really wanted to get this done so that I can go ahead using wpgpmaps in place of my fusion table map.)

The combination of your plugin and your support has been fantastic and has made it possible. I appreciate it and look forward to doing more.

With respect to uploading and replacing data, is there a way to replace only selected marker data in an upload? In other words, if I have 400 markers in my map, can I upload data to replace data in 10 of the existing markers? It seems like some combination of specifying replace/don’t replace when uploading and filling out the id and map_id fields in the CSV might work.

I also still want to try the V8 beta that would allow me to select which custom fields appear in the InfoWindow.

Many thanks for a great product and outstanding support!

    Understood.

On the ordering, I’m thinking I could delete all the fields, then re-create them in the most usable order. Am I correct that the fields will be created in the order they appear in the CSV file?

One handy “feature” I have observed is, for fields with no values, the Infowindow does not display a fieldname (and accompanying blank area). That makes sense, but I just want to confirm that is correct and as intended? I can make use of that a couple of ways.

On the information in the Infowindow and its formatting:

    1. The first item is the titlefield in bold
    2. The address in the pic field is used to display an image to the right of the title
    3. After a blank line, the address field is then displayed
      • Can this be suppressed?</li?
    4. After a blank line, The text in the description field is displayed in a “light” font
    5. If the link field is populated, it is displayed as a “More Details” link immediately below the description
    6. After a blank line, the custom fields then display in order as fieldname: fieldcontents

Is that correct? Are any other standard fields displayed?

Is the CSS class information to change the formatting of the standard fields documented or should I ask you for specific items I may want to change there?

Thanks for the offer on the CSS. I know I would like to change the format of the field values for the custom fields to distinguish them from the field names.
If I can select only some custom fields to be changed, even better. I included an example earlier:

    Installed (kW): 5.73

    Operational since: 8/21/18

    Thanks!

    Hi Perry,

Just saw your reply about the field order….I hadn’t noticed it this morning.

I just updated my test load CSV, matching the field order of the example CSV and adding the custom fields following. Worked like a charm! All the fields and data are in the right places.

    Thanks, Perry.

The workaround is spot on. It had occurred to me to download the image, but I figured that the arrangements for using the images in the plugin discouraged that practice. This is a great fix in the interim. Thanks!

    Hi Perry,

I’ve created a new map and CSV load file. This one is a few steps closer to what I’m trying to accomplish. I didn’t want to change the original one you’ve been looking at.

    A few observations:

    1. With a larger number of custom fields, I do look forward to testing the V8 beta that will allow maps to specify which custom fields are displayed in the Info Window. I do notice that the Info Window does not display custom fields if the field is blank.
    2. Notice that the latitude value is now showing up in the last name field. Could this have something to do with the field order in the CSV? Going left to right, I have some custom fields defined before some of the standard/required fields.
    3. One of my custom fields now has a custom-built HTML string. This is my workaround for not being able to use field values as variables in the Info Window, as I do in Fusion Tables. I use a formula within the spreadsheet to build a custom string that varies with and incorporates values within each row of data. I save the values in the CSV file. You’ll see it as a “contact” link or text within 3 or 4 of the 10 data points.

I created a couple of new forum entries (one is a reply to an existing forum) with other questions I have.

Thanks and have a great weekend!

    Hi Perry,

You’ve been helping me with recreating my Fusion Tables map. One of the tasks I asked about is customizing the Infowindow. Researching the forums, I found this item. Since it provides some of the information I need, I’m appending further questions on that topic here, thinking it might be helpful to others researching the same topic. (Let me know if that is not optimal….)

I followed the revised instructions in this item to add the custom CSS and custom JS. I now have the custom fields showing up in the Infowindow of my test map.

    Questions

    1. We’ve discussed that the ability to select which custom fields appear in the Infobox will be available in version 8. So for now, all the fields are appearing.
    2. Ordering the custom fields – the custom fields are displayed in the order they were created. Is it possible to reorder them?
    3. Formatting the custom field names differently than the custom field data. The field names are in the “before” content of the custom CSS. Is it possible to format the names separately from the field data. (For example, having the field name be in normal text but the field data in bold.) I’m not looking to format individual custom fields differently (though I wouldn’t say no to that…). I just want to improve readability for all the fields. In my map, something like this:

      kW: 5.96
      Installer: Direct Energy

    Thanks!

The first link rendered as “Certificate”. Text of link should read:

    Updated CSV attached.

This is my test CSV with a small number of records. The full file has ~450 records.

I just found the option to download all my markers as a CSV file. When I did so, I found the lat & long fields populated with the street number in the lat field and a zero in the long field.

I remembered that I hadn’t included the lat & long fields in my import file. I thought they would be created by the import process and filled by the geocoding. The fields were clearly being created, but they were not being filled by geocoding. So I added lat & long fields to the CSV file and filled them with zeros. Success! The uploaded locations showed up as properly geocoded markers.

Oddly, one of my custom fields (uniquenon) is now being populated with the latitude value. I have no clue why that is happening. I’ll leave that one open with you….

    Thanks!
