wpgmaps_markerurl = ‘URL/wp-content/uploads/wp-google-maps/’;
Is there anyway to get rid of this from each page.
It’s coming up a 403
March 31, 2014 at 3:40 pm #6496Nick DuncanKeymasterHi
Please can you send us a link to where the map is supposed to display?Please confirm the version numbers you are using?
March 31, 2014 at 10:06 pm #6503mbarrusMemberThe map is displaying fine.
It’s just that Webmaster Tools shows “URL”/wp-content/uploads/wp-google-maps/
it as a 403 because most WordPress users have a robots.txt file that blocks any bots from crawling the /wp-content/ folder.
So in our Webmaster Tools it shows as a 403 error.
The map is fine

Has
wpgmaps_markerurl = ‘mywebsite.com/wp-content/uploads/wp-google-maps/’;always been a part of the plugin?
April 4, 2014 at 11:57 am #6553Nick DuncanKeymasterHi
That is a new addition in the latest version.
We’ve moved the marker files there so that they do not get overridden with every updateApril 15, 2014 at 6:16 am #6623mbarrusMemberMy robots.txt file is:
User-agent: *
Disallow: /wp-content/plugins—–
Google Webmaster Tools shows

You don’t have permission to access /wp-content/uploads/wp-google-maps/ on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Cannot be a part of the page unless you can keep it from being crawled by Googlebot.
All of your customers will see this access denied 403 in their Webmaster tools:

Unfortunately we cannot remove that at this point as it is an integral part of the plugin’s functionality.We’ll rethink the way we’ve done it for the next release.
Kind regards
NickApril 16, 2014 at 9:43 pm #6647mbarrusMemberThanks,
I have deactivated, but not deleted.
I’ll leave the shortcodes on the pages.
Please contact me when to reactivate.
