Hello,
I currently utilize the Visitor Generator Markers to allow users to suggest where markers should be. My map is essentially ‘crowd sourced’ in where certain places are located. As the number of markers grow, some locations might no longer exist and I won’t know if a user generated marker is still valid or not. Is it possible to add a field to the marker popup (perhaps in a future release or custom code??) for users to suggest the removal of a marker? That way I could look at a list of markers that need to added or deleted and decide whether that should happen and the list stays up to date thanks to visitors generating (or adding) locations but also advising me if a marker needs to be removed because it’s no longer valid. Thanks!

Thank you so much for getting in touch, we really appreciate your time.
Unfortuantely, this is a fairly large request as WP Google Maps doesn’t have a sort of “Communication Feature set” so this would most likely require the addition of a new system in order to relay this information to the admin.
With that said, I have taken note of this suggestion for consideration in a future version of WP Google Maps.
Kindest Regards,

You already have a Visitor Generated Marker plugin and that process leaves checkmark icon in the “Action” column of the existing markers. If you added a link in the marker popup (perhaps on the lower right?) that says something like “suggest removal” and that would add an icon with an “X?” in the Action column. That would indicate to me that the marker might not be valid and look into whether it should be removed or not.
Just a suggestion.

Thank you so much for getting back to me.
That is correct, there is a “checkmark” option in the action column when VGM is installed, however, in order to add to this, requires the plugin to add a new column WP Google Maps DataBase table which the data can then be pulled from. This column would contain the value/data to confirm whether this marker has been requested for removal as an example.
The plugin would then need its core code to be adjusted to account for this extra column and the change in the table created.
With that said, this is possible, however, these changes would be required to ensure the plugin still works correctly and account for the additional data that needs handling.
I hope this better helps clarify?
Kindest Regards,
