LucaJune 17, 2022 at 3:57 pm #73359MatthewModeratorHi Luca,
Thank you for getting in touch with us, we do appreciate your time.
Please may you elaborate a bit further regarding this so that I may get a better idea of the issue?
May I also ask you to confirm which WP Google Maps plugins you are currently using as well as their respective version numbers?
I look forward to hearing back from you.
Kindest Regards,

Thank you for getting back to me and for your time on this, I really appreciate it!
Thank you for the confirmation, please may I ask if you may disable automatic backups (Maps -> Settings -> Advanced Settings)?
Once this has been done, please may you delete your scheduled import and re-create it and confirm if this helps?
Please note that the scheduled imports use wp_cron for its timing which is different to standard cron jobs. Traditional standard crons will run at the exact time defined, but WordPress cannot do that because it depends on interactions with the website (visitor or admins viewing the site). In other words, for the scheduled import to run at 8:00 server time, someone needs to visit the site (frontend/backend) around that server time in order for the import to run. If someone only visits the site an hour later, the cron will only run an hour later as WordPress requires interactions as mentioned. Thus this is all based on activity on the site, meaning the busier your site, the more reliable your schedule. WP Go Maps (formerly WP Google Maps) tells WordPress that it has crons to run, however, WordPress manages those crons to the best of its ability based on its available resources.
I look forward to hearing back from you.

Thank you for your response, it is much appreciated.
It is not a problem at all and I shall await your response regarding enabling WP Cron.
With regards to the Automatic Backups feature, it is still a beta feature so it may have some hiccups here and there that we being tested and fixed. The known issues we have found is that sometimes if your markers are assigned to category ID’s in your import file, the marker does not get assigned to the category sometimes for some reason – we are still looking into this.
Automatic backups also take up server resources thus if you are importing thousands of markers, it would be better to have the automatic backups feature as it creates a backup before each import, thus using double the resources to backup and import. With that said, it is up to you based on which you prefer.
I hope this answers your question?

Thank you for getting back to me and most valued time, I tremendously appreciate it!
That is great news, and it was my great pleasure assisting you with this.
Please may you kindly consider reviewing our plugin at https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/wp-google-maps/reviews/#new-post?
It would really mean the world to me! And if possible, please could I kindly ask you to mention both your name and mine in the review for administrative purposes as this would be a tremendous help?
Should you ever require any further assistance, I am more than happy to help.
Have a great day further!
Kindest Regards,
Matthew -
