I use the following shortcode for displaying a map with store locator set: wpgmza id=’1′ cat=’2′]. The cat-parameter works just fine for the initial display and only shows the markers of category value 2. Unfortunately when I press the “Reset” button, all categories will be shown – in my case markers with categories 1 and 2. Is this a bug or expected behavior?
January 31, 2017 at 8:33 am #23743DylanModeratorHi there,
Thank you so much for your time on this one, and our apologies for the confusion caused.
The reset button clear all categories and does not reset it to the initial category selection.
This is not a bug, but I could see how this may be confusing in some instances.
I will be sure to add this to our development schedule, and we will try and release a fix for it in the near future.
I hope this is acceptable?

thank you for your quick reply. I am sorry that it took me so long to answer.
If you are saying it’s not a bug, that means it is a feature? I do not quite understand the intention behind this, because from a user’s point of view who searches in the map with the store finder, he will just want to return to the map as he saw it before pressing the search button. The user will not know that there was a shortcode that limited the categories. He would expect the map the same as before.
Is there some way I can work around this behavior with some temporary changes in the code?Kind regards
FlorianFebruary 27, 2017 at 9:31 am #24737DylanModeratorHi Florian,
Not a problem at all I completely understand.
The reset functionality was developed prior to the category option becoming available which is why it clears the category selection, rather than re-instate it to the original category selection. This is the reason why I mentioned that it is not a bug as such.
However we do agree with your that this is not the desired functionality, which is why I mentioned that we would need to implement a fix for this for future versions.
I would be happy to implement a fix for you in the meantime if you would be open to this?
February 27, 2017 at 10:29 pm #24765florian.ohlyMemberHi Dylan,
thank you for the quick reply. How could you implement a fix in the meantime? Or what would I need to
do? Of course, I am open to this 🙂Best regards

Thank you so much for your time on this one.
I wonder if you would be at all open to allowing me temporary admin access to your site to debug this and find a solution? This would be far quicker than walking you through various debugging steps, followed by a solution.
In the event that I find a sustainable work-around/solution to this issue, I will then be able to add this to our development schedule for the next release.
If you are comfortable with this, please send the login credentials through as a Private Reply, or perhaps via our Support Desk?
Thank you for your time. 🙂
February 14, 2021 at 6:34 pm #67629sam104535ParticipantI know this is an old post, but I would like to know the solution to this. The behavior continues in the current latest version. I have purchased and have the latest versions installed.
February 15, 2021 at 8:12 am #67637DylanModeratorHi there,
Thank you for getting in touch, we do appreciate your time.
We will be making changes to the reset functionality soon to add support for the shortcode parameters. In the past, this was not possible due to the shortcode attributes not being available to the module which manages the reset.
With our latest versions, this is no longer the case and the functionality can now be achieved.
If you do require a solution sooner, please share a link to your site with me as a private reply so that I can prepare a custom script snippet for your site.
I look forward to hearing back from you.
