Hi,
I am having trouble getting my markers to show. I have 6000+ markers so I chose to Pull Marker date from XML in the advanced settings. The wp-google-maps directory is created with the correct file permissions via FTP. I uploaded an XML file there with all my marker data. Nothing shows up on my map.
I have had success using the Pull from Database option if I cut my database to only have about 1000 records and then use the plugin interface to upload the csv. If I go over 1000 records I get an error “Header 1 should be ‘id’ not ‘id'”.
That’s why I went back and chose the XML option since it stated it was better for larger amounts of markers. What could I be doing wrong? What does the xml file need to be named? Does it matter? Any steps I am missing?
Thanks!

Thank you for getting in touch with us.
Have you read this article in our documentation: http://www.wpgmaps.com/documentation/exporting-and-importing-your-markers/
Please check all steps from the article and let me know how it goes.
There is no naming conventions for xml file so it should work.
Would it be possible for you to send me the xml file in private post si I can look further into this for you?Thank you for your time in this.
Best regards,

Yes, I have read through that article and followed it. I was able to successfully import a CSV into via the plugin if I reduced our marker number to about 1,000. But when I got over that I got errors when trying to import. That’s when I started to try and figure out the XML route.
I was going to attached my files here but it says the max file size is 512KB and my XML file is 4.9MB and my csv is 900kb. What should I do?
Thanks!
Jessica

February 22, 2018 at 10:08 am #34943SupportTeamModeratorHi @mirefoot,
Please take a look at our documentation here: https://www.wpgmaps.com/documentation/exporting-and-importing-your-markers/ There is Editing your markers section where xml structure is explained.
Hope that helps.
Kind regards

There is no mention at all on that page you have linked to reference XML.
Maybe there is a different page?

I’m sorry for the confusion I made with my last response.
The best option for importing 10k markers is using Import CSV file inside Maps → Advanced section.
XML pull data option is just a cache layer so you can’t create the XML file with all data and upload it to your server. You need to first add your markers or import them as I said and then you can select XML pull data or use database option which I would highly recommend. What format is your data at the moment?
If you need any help with converting this data to CSV like it is explaining in the documentation here: https://www.wpgmaps.com/documentation/exporting-and-importing-your-markers/ I’ll be happy to help.Kind regards
