Thank you for your continued time on this one.
The marker separator does not include zoom functionality, instead, this would be managed only with the cluster module.
In addition, our current version of the marker separation system does not support drawing lines between the centre point and the other markers within the group.
What I may recommend is switching to an alternative shape which better demonstrates the centre points under Maps -> Settings -> Marker Separation -> Near-Vicinity Shape.
