Hi,
I know this question has been answered recently but I would like to have a little bit more information. So far, the pro version of the plugin meets all of my needs except for one essential feature. I need to be able to add multiple values within a custom field of a specific marker. For example, in the custom field “Caracteristics” a location can be “dog-friendly” AND “kid-friendly”. So the user can choose to show only locations that meet these criterias. Right now I can only choose one of the two. I can’t use the Category feature for this since I also have “Type of location”, “Budget”, etc. as custom fields which need to be in separate dropdowns.
Here are my questions:
1. Is there a way to have multiple “Category” dropdowns instead of one?
2. Do you plan to add a comma separator feature to have multiple values within a custom field soon?
3. Is there any workaround for this? I would modify the source code myself but since my client is not a developer and I’m only working with her until the end of the month I can’t risk for it to stop working after an update.Thank you!

If someone ticks the box for “dog-friendly” and the box for “kid-friendly”, the map should display markers that have one and/or the other. Not necessarily both. This is the current behavior of the plugin which is fine. But I still need to be able to label the location as “dog-friendly” and “kid-friendly” if that makes sense.

Thank you so much for getting back to us.
Kindly find my answers to your questions below:
1. You will have to look into custom fields for this. You can set the custom field to a dropdown but can also have multiple custom fields.
2,3. Unfortunately, custom fields can only hold one value due to how the filtering system works so this won’t be a simple core code change but instead, a large core adjustment to allow for comma operation but then also filtering would need to be adjusted to work correctly. The Category system allows for parent categories that should achieve the desired result somewhat, however, categories will only fit into one dropdown and cannot be split into separate drown downs by default.
You are welcome to submit a customization request to the link below where one of our third-party developers might be able to assist with this?

If you want to highlight that some is not there, then set “Kid-friendly: no” and if you leave the field empty, nothing will be shown.
The result is then that the enabled fields will show up as a list, each with a nice icon in front.

December 13, 2021 at 7:08 am #71506StevenModeratorHi @vratnieks,
Thank you so much for getting in touch, we really appreciate it.
This is something planned for a future major version of WP Google Maps and has not yet been implemented.
I hope this helps clarify.
