The search function of the forum is not working for me, so excuse me if it has been asked before πŸ™‚
I also looked through the online documentation, but can’t really seem to find an answer there either.

    My question:
Is it possible for a marker to have multiple categories?

For example, a Store Locator, a store sells Apple and Samsung. So, if a visitor selects ‘Apple’ the store should show up and if a visitor selects ‘Samsung’ it should show up as well, but not when a visitor selects ‘Google Pixel’.
Or, to go with the Apartments-example, some apartments can either be bought as well as rented. So, “Apartment A” should show up when visitors select ‘to rent’ as well as when they select ‘to buy’. But it shouldn’t show up when they select ‘for free’.

    Is something like this possible?

Well, I just went ahead and bought the Pro version and the VGM-addon and everything works as I wanted πŸ™‚

    Hi there,

Thank you for getting in touch with us, we do appreciate your time.

Yes it is indeed possible for a marker to be assigned to multiple categories, as a checkbox list is provided of all the categories when creating/editing a marker for you to check which categories the marker should be assigned to.

Thank you so much for your purchase and we are happy that everything works as you wanted!

Please may you kindly consider reviewing our plugin at https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/wp-google-maps/reviews/#new-post?

It would really mean the world to me! And if possible, please could I kindly ask you to mention both your name and mine in the review for administrative purposes as this would be a tremendous help?

Should you ever require any further assistance, I am more than happy to help.

    Have a fantastic day further!

    Kindest Regards,
    Matthew

    Thanks for you reply Matthew!
Yes, I will leave a review in a couple of days.
I still need some more time with the plugin to write a complete and honest review.
There are still some quirks with the VGM-module to figure out.
And please note, I’m not saying there is anything wrong with the plugin, it’s entirely possible I’m doing something wrong because I have only been at it for a few hours and there are many, many options.

But I must say, the module is really impressive and lot of work and attention has been put into it. It’s really a great plugin so far.

Oh, I did change my WP language back from Dutch to English though.
The Dutch translation of the backend contains some really strange words, making it impossible to understand some things.
For example, in English there is the word ‘Γ§ycle’ which can mean ‘to rotate/loop through’ or ‘riding a bike/biking’ or it can also be a ‘bike’ (noun).
In Dutch, ‘cycle’ (rotate) would be ‘roteren’ or ‘rouleren’.
In Dutch, ‘cycle’ (biking) is ‘fietsen’.
In the plugin, ‘cycle’ is translated as ‘fietsen’ which only ever means ‘biking’ in Dutch, making it almost impossible to understand πŸ™‚
So some option read (in Dutch) something like: ‘Do you want to bike the pictures?’ and I was like… WHAT do I want to do with the pictures?!!

I could only make sense of this by translating iy back to English (cycle) and then I understood where it had gone wrong πŸ™‚
There are more such (funny, but wrong) translations in the Dutch version. It seems many words were translated automatically without any context, resulting in wrong translations. So after changing the back end to English, the module became way more easy to use πŸ™‚
