Hi,
We are trying to realize a directory website. Your plugin looks great for our purpose but I have few questions.
Will your import tool generate exactly the same locations as the google My Maps layers ? I’m using My Maps to create layers from a csv file. This csv contains few informations : name, category, city, country. With these datas My Maps always find the good address (restaurants, hotels etc…). I need to export the KML from the generated layers and import it to my website. Will I have exactly the same maps ?
Once the locations have been imported on my website with your tool : Does it create a “post” for each location (with maps, infos, title… and comments options) ? Are these “posts” linkable from the main maps (clicking on the title for eg) ?
I need a result similar as geodirectory functions : Displaying search results on a map (category, tags, keywords…). Clicking on the location link to the “post” (with maps, title and description).
Sorry for my poor english..;
Regards
February 8, 2017 at 8:51 am #23988DylanModeratorHi there,
Thank you so much for your time.
Our KML import tool will read the contents of the KML file and import it directly from the file provided.
This means that locations and structure should match after the import is complete.
With regards to creating posts for each marker, we do not create posts on import, but rather the markers will be added to a specific map and can be edited from within our map editor.
I hope this helps? 🙂
February 8, 2017 at 10:59 am #23996lgdvMemberHi Dylan,
Thank you for that quick answer !
My KML files generated by Google My Maps don’t contain any lat / long or addresses. Only Name, Category, City, Country. With these datas Google find the good locations using it’s own search tool (the places are famous so the default search result is always the good one). But if I send this KML file to Google earth for example the locations are not always well generated. Because GE doesn’t use the same search tool as My Maps. So I need to know if your plugin works exactly as Google My Maps does. Is it possible to test the pro version anywhere to try some kml imports ?
Regarding the posts question. Is it possible to add a link to the markers into the kml file so the markers could be associated to posts when clicking on title or “read more” from the map ?
Best regards
February 9, 2017 at 7:18 am #24018DylanModeratorHi there,
In the event that the exported KML file does not hold any location data, I do not believe the markers will be added as intended. However as we reference the KML file, if location data is stored during output the layer should be identical to that seen in Google Maps.
We do not have a trial version available, however if you would like to send me the KML file (in a private reply) I would be happy to test this on my side?
Yes, we do allow for a ‘Read more’ button to be linked to other pages. Additionally, our description area support HTML tags.
I hope this helps?

Thank you for tour investigations and advises. I will continue my benchmark because this solution isn’t really convenient for us.
Best regards !
