Hi,
I LOVE the new “filter by date” feature… it’s exactly what the team has been asking me for this week 🙂
However, they manage their data in a Google Sheet, with a scheduled import. Obviously, going and manually entering dates for each marker isn’t an option here.
I tried adding a “Date” column to my Google Sheet (which matches the name of the Custom Field I created inside WP Google Maps, which is also a date). The date format I’m using in that column is YYYY-MM-DD. When I ran an import, the Date Custom Field was not populated for any markers that I checked (PS. maybe show custom fields in the Markers table, so you don’t have to click through every marker to see this info?).
My question is: can you please make it possible to import Date data from a spreadsheet? This will make our customers VERY happy. Thanks in advance!!!

Thank you for getting in touch, sorry to hear you’re having issues importing dates.
I believe our importer needs to be updated in order to correctly convert string dates into the databases internal date format.
I’ve added this to our issue tracker, we’ll update you on that as soon as possible.
In the mean time, is there anything else we can help you with?
Kind regards

Does this mean that the importer CAN import dates at the moment? If so, please just tell me how to give it the right data?
July 28, 2020 at 9:47 am #60252PerryModeratorHi Adam
I’ve run through our code and there actually isn’t any date processing code there,
You would need to import that another way (eg by using a timestamp and then converting the field), as it’s not possible to import date values presently.
I’m so sorry we can’t be more forthcoming on that right now.
Is there anything else we can help you with?
Kind regards

It’s not so much a bug or issue, it’s something that is presently unsupported, sorry about that.
Unfortunately we don’t have a timeline on implementing this right now.
Is there anything else we can help you with?
Kind regards
