Is it possible to hide the store locator form using a shortcode parameter?

I want users to be able to search for a location on a “find a location page” but I think it gets in the way when we ask them to add a marker for a new location.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi there,

Thank you so much for getting in touch, we really appreciate your time.

Just to confirm, it sounds like you are making use of the Visitor Generated Markers plugin in order to allow visitors to add markers and you would like to hide the store locator search?

You should simply be able to deactivate the Store Locator via the map settings(Maps -> Map Editor -> Store Locator) or alternatively, it may be possible to hide these elements using some custom CSS if that may be something you are interested in?

We look forward to hearing back from you.

    Kindest Regards,
    Steven De Beer

    Hi Steven,

    Yes.

I have two groups of users:
    1) people searching for the location of a particular place
    2) people who know where something is, and want to share it with a VGM

The store locator function is perfect for people searching for a place. But it gets in the way of people wanting to add a location.

I was hoping for a shortcode parameter but I will explore css options now.

I am surprised that this isn’t a really common request.

    Hi There,

Thank you so much for getting back to us.

Unfortunately this is not available at the moment, I will definitely add it to the Feature Request items for our development team to have a look at. They will assess the request, and if approved they will add it to our plugin in the future.

    Thank you for your suggestion.

With that said, this may be possible with Custom CSS.

Could I kindly ask if you could please provide us with a link to your map page?

We will then be able to advice further.

We look forward to hearing back from you.

    Kind Regards,
    Abel
