Hi, is it possible to hide a category on page load and then make it visible via filters?
September 16, 2021 at 2:34 pm #70578MatthewModeratorHi there,
Thank you for getting in touch with us, we do appreciate your time.
This may be possible using some custom JS code which can be entered in the settings area (Maps -> Settings -> Advanced Settings).
With that said, please could I kindly ask if you may provide me with the link to your map page so that I may take a closer look at your map and filters?
May I also ask if you may confirm which filters will show the respective category?
I look forward to hearing back from you.

Thank you for getting back to me and for your time on this, I really appreciate it!
Thank you for the link and explanation, however, I am unfortunately still not too sure what needs to be selected in order for the categories to display.
Thus please may you confirm what element needs to be selected in order to display the categories and their subcategories?
I look forward to hearing back from you.

Kindest Regards
AlessandroSeptember 17, 2021 at 10:33 am #70585MatthewModeratorHi Alessandro,
Thank you for your response regarding this.
My sincerest apologies for this, Are you wanting the markers to be hidden on page load, and then the markers should only display once a category filter is selected?
If not, I assume you would want the category filter to be hidden on page load, and the category filter will only display when selected. If I understand correctly, the category will be hidden, thus please may you confirm how to select the category if it is hidden?
You may provide me with images if possible as that may be easier to understand?
My apologies for the back and forth on this, I just want to make sure that I understand you correctly.
I look forward to hearing back from you.

Sorry if I was unclear, but i want the markers to be hidden on page load, and then the markers should only display once a category filter is selected as you said.
Despite everything in the end you understood my request.
Thanks for your time.
AlessandroSeptember 17, 2021 at 11:14 am #70588alessandr4Participant(But not all the markers, just the ones of the catergory “spazi”)
September 17, 2021 at 11:25 am #70589MatthewModeratorHi Alessandro,
Thank you so much for the confirmation as it is of much help! It is not a problem at all, I am glad that I now understand what you are wanting to achieve.
Unfortunately, only hiding the “Spazi” markers is currenty not possible, however, you may hide all the markers until a category is selected.
Should you be fine with hiding all the markers until a category is selected, please see the steps below:
1. Navigate to Maps -> Maps -> Edit.
2. Click on the “Store Locator” tab.
3. Find and enable the “Hide all markers until a search is done” setting.
4. Click the “Save Map” button.Once this has been done, the markers will be hidden on page load and will only display once a filter is selected.
Please do let me know if this helps?

AlessandroSeptember 17, 2021 at 4:07 pm #70592MatthewModeratorHi Alessandro,
We do apologize for this, we may look into hiding markers that are within a specific category in the future.

I’m looking for the same thing, because I have a lot of marker on my map so I don’t want to show them all on page load. I thought maybe since 2021 there’s a solution for this?
Thanks in advance for your help!
Best regards

January 3, 2023 at 7:34 am #75891MatthewModeratorHi Marina,
Thank you for getting in touch with us, we do appreciate it!
Thank you for your input and feedback regarding this, unfortunately hiding specific markers on page load is currently not supported.
You may hide specific markers on your map completely by setting the marker’s “Display on frontend” setting to “No”. However, please note that the marker will not be shown at all on your map as it will not be loaded on the map at all.
I hope this answers your questions?
Kindest Regards,
