What are near-vicinity markers?
Markers that share the same coordinates or sit so close together that they overlap on the map. The Marker Separation feature groups them behind a placeholder and fans them out when clicked, so every marker remains accessible.
What expansion shapes are available?

Can I customise the placeholder icon?
Yes. You can set a custom icon for the placeholder marker using the built-in marker icon picker. This helps visitors recognise that multiple markers are grouped at that location.
How does the affect radius work?
The affect radius defines how close two markers need to be (in metres) before they are grouped. The default is 50 metres. Increase it to group markers that are further apart, or decrease it to only catch exact overlaps.
Is marker separation animated?
Yes. You can enable smooth animation with a configurable duration in seconds. There is also a stagger option so markers fan out one after another, with a configurable interval between each marker.
How is this different from clustering?
Clustering groups markers across the entire map based on zoom level, replacing them with numbered cluster icons. Marker separation targets only markers that overlap at the same coordinates. You can use both features together on the same map.
